Scott Medla, Managing Partner
Scott is responsible for relationship management and advisory services for all power, utilities, renewables, power transmission and energy technology clients. Prior to founding Ansonia Partners, he founded TAG Energy. Earlier in his career, Scott served as Managing Director of CIT Energy, where he headed its New York office covering power, utilities, renewables and energy technology companies. He also led CIT Energy’s investment banking group. He previously was a Managing Director at Bank of America Securities, at New Harbor and at Fieldstone. In addition, he founded and was Managing Director and Industry Head of Deutsche Bank Securities’ power and utility practice for North America. Prior to that, he was Vice President at Citibank, N.A. and Irving Trust Company, where he started his energy banking career. Scott earned an MBA from the Johnson School at Cornell University and a BA from Union College.

Kwon-Kyun Chung, Managing Director
Mr. Chung focusses on market and project economics and financing programs. Mr. Chung has 24 years of independent power development (Sithe Energies), finance and M&A advisory experience, with over 3,000 MW and $4 billion of independent power and infrastructure transactions concluded in North and South America and Asia. He began his career in investment banking working for WestLB and Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein in project finance and structure finance. He later joined Alinda Capital Partners, one of the first independent infrastructure funds, where he helped raise $3 billion for Alinda’s initial fund. For the past decade, Mr. Chung has focused on the renewable power sector and most recently was head of development at Sonnedix Japan, a subsidiary of Sonnedix, a portfolio company of a fund managed by J.P. Morgan Asset Management, and a partner at NorthRenew Energy. Mr. Chung has his B.A. from Columbia University and a Master's degree from Columbia University in International Finance.

Al Statman, Managing Director
Al Statman spent most of his career as a Washington D.C. attorney specializing in representing electric utilities, transmission companies and generation companies before federal and state regulators. He was a managing shareholder for 24 years of Wright & Talisman, P.C., a leading boutique energy firm in Washington, and was a shareholder with the firm for 33 years. He has also acted as a consultant to several utilities on their transmission business. Mr. Statman is an affiliate partner of Lindsay Goldberg, a New York based private equity firm providing advice and assistance on energy transactions. He was instrumental in the creation of Continental Energy by Lindsay Goldberg which included affiliates Cap Rock Energy, SEMCO and New Mexico Gas. Mr. Statman was a founder of Trans-Elect, Inc., North America’s first independent transmission company, and held various positions at the company including Executive Vice President and General Counsel from the company’s inception in 1999 through 2005. Since 2016 he has been a partner in the Libertad power projects in New Mexico, which are focused on the emerging hydrogen economy and hydrogen-based generation. He received his J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law, where he was an editor of the Syracuse Law Review. He received his undergraduate degree at Oregon State University, where he graduated with highest honors.

Pablo Sandstrom, Vice President
At Ansonia Partners Pablo is a Vice President and supports marketing efforts of the firm. Prior to Ansonia, Pablo worked at Morgan Stanley in their London (UK) office. At Morgan Stanley, Pablo was an Associate with the M&A Execution and Financial Institutions Group teams, working on over 20 high profile transactions, including a major pharmaceutical company's defense against its takeover, and many other prominent financial advisory assignments in the international aerospace, banking, telecom and technology industries. Pablo holds a double degree in International Business & Finance from ICADE Business School in Madrid, Spain.
